Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
BoopDesk (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about Sitters and Clients who use the BoopDesk platform (boopdesk.com).
2. Information We Collect
Account information: Name, email address, and business details you provide when registering.
Client and pet data: Information Sitters enter about their clients and pets, including names, contact details, pet health notes, and service preferences. This data is entered by Sitters and is their responsibility to collect with appropriate consent.
Voice recordings and transcripts: When Sitters use the voice note feature, audio is processed by OpenAI Whisper to generate a transcript. The transcript is then processed by Anthropic Claude to draft a visit update. Audio files are deleted after transcription. Transcripts are stored and associated with the visit record.
Location data: GPS coordinates are collected at visit check-in and, when walk tracking is enabled, during the visit. This data is shared with the Client via the client portal to confirm service delivery.
Usage data: We collect standard web server logs, page views, and feature usage analytics to improve the Service.
Payment information: Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. BoopDesk does not store credit card numbers or bank account details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the Service, process payments, send transactional emails and SMS notifications, generate AI-assisted content on behalf of Sitters, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
BoopDesk uses the following third-party processors:

- ·Twilio — SMS delivery
- ·Resend — Transactional email

Each provider operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
5. SMS Communications
Consent: BoopDesk collects SMS consent explicitly via the client intake form. A client must actively check the consent checkbox before any SMS messages are sent to that client. Consent is never assumed or pre-checked.
Message types: Clients who have provided consent may receive the following transactional messages via BoopDesk: visit updates, booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and invoice notifications. Message frequency varies based on the number of active bookings.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply. Please consult your mobile carrier for details.
Opt-out: To stop receiving SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent. To opt back in, reply START.
Help: For assistance, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@boopdesk.com.
Data sharing: BoopDesk does not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
Carrier liability: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Data Retention
Sitter and client data is retained for the duration of the active subscription plus 30 days following cancellation. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted. Voice recordings are deleted immediately after transcription. You may request early deletion of your data by contacting privacy@boopdesk.com.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and row-level security on all database tables. Authentication is handled via magic-link email with no passwords stored. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@boopdesk.com. If you are an EU resident, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Children's Privacy
BoopDesk is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
